After a couple of really bad days, Lainie pulled through and got to come home today! She's still a little weak and sore, but is getting back to being herself. It was so weird for her to not be around for the last 4 days. I couldn't sleep well because she wasn't here with me, and it was just so lonely to get here and her not come running. But she's going to be good, and I'm very, very happy she's back!...
02.22.04: more than she could chewSo last night I hop into the shower while Lainie is content on the floor by the door with a piggy sliver. A few minutes into my shower, I hear a few muffled little barks. I immediately know something is wrong because I've never heard Lainie bark any time when we're not rough-housing. So I jump out of the shower, grab my glasses and see my poor little pup in dire trouble. Apparently, she'd swallowed too big of a piece of rawhide or something else and couldn't breathe. She was...
01.16.04: fast learnerSince we last left off, Lainie the Labrador has made great strides into puppyhood. (are you tired of the puppy yet?) Lainie can now sit, as long as there's not really anything else going on. For 7 weeks, this is quite the awesome dog. Sirens, roommates, other toys all seem to be a detterent to learning, but hey, we're happy she can do this much. She's grown about 4 inches in the last week and a half. I know you think I'm probably kidding, but everyday, she's a little...
01.10.04: a few things*Pete Rose does not deserve to be in the Hall of Fame. As his life dragged on under the burden of his tremendous lies, he finally decided to come clean. I seriously doubt he admitted to betting on baseball now because he thought it was the right thing to do. I think he finally realized he's going to die and he desperately wants to be in the Hall of Fame. *Puppies are generally a bad idea. I thought this was going to be a cake-walk, but it's as close to...
01.07.04: first pictures 01.01.04: new additionI'd like to introduce Lainie, the Black Labrador Retriever. Ok, well that's not really her, but that's as close as I could get seeing as how my card-reader decided to stop working. She's a tad smaller at 6 weeks, but she's all kinds of cute. I got her because I needed some new blogging material; so with the new puppy and the stories Adam and I can gain at Open Jazz night, I think we're set. More to come......
