With Wall Street in utter collapse, you and me (taxpayers) are about to get a memo.
It'll simply read:
From the Government: Fuck You!
These people made $50 million dollars a year!! and we're going to bail them out? These so-called experts didn't understand that you can't have $10 billion in cash and loan out $300 billion? Are you kidding me?
This is all wrong, like most everything else that's happened over the past 8 or so years. The sad thing is, the American people don't watch or pay attention. We're too busy watching Dancing with the Stars (btw, Warren Sapp kicked ass tonight!) to notice that instead of our Government helping the citizens, they're helping out the people who've already been living rich under this Administration.
How about we just freeze foreclosures and work on new financing to where people can actually afford their mortgages? Sure, they may take a loss, but as it stands now, we'll take a 100% loss on these loans after handing a $700,000,000,000.00 blank check to Henry Paulson, former CEO of one of the companies getting bailed-out.
Bernie Sanders nailed it, when he said:
For years now, they’ve told us that we can’t afford — that the government providing healthcare to all people is just unimaginable; it can’t be done. We don’t have the money to rebuild our infrastructure. We don’t have the money to wipe out poverty. We can’t do it. But all of a sudden, yeah, we do have $700 billion for a bailout of Wall Street.
If that doesn't blow you away enough, remember that Bush cut FOUR MILLION CHILDREN out of health care because $7 billion wasn't available.
The bailout will pass. The Democratic controlled congress will take their leave of Washington, this is an election year, politics as usual. The Dems just caved on the drilling moratorium, as the Republicans said they would have a vote or shut down the government, i.e., Congress would have to remain in session.
Have faith in your democratic controlled Congress to do the Wright thing.
I stopped yesterday in Benjamin to take a break driving back to Lubbock from Denison. The football team was using 1/2 of the little football field and the other 1/2 was being used the band. I spoke to a Mom that was watching practice setting on the back of her ranch vehicle with a gun rack about small town America. I asked her if her life was driven by her faith and guns - her remark was is their anything else?
As Reagan said Government is not the solution, it is the problem.
