Now that I'm gainfully employed, I've restarted my Netflix account that lay dormant for the past two years. Actually, when I say restarted, I mean "joined again new." When I cancelled, I said I'd be back and Netflix promised to retain all of my queue items and ratings, but did they? Of course not.
Into the Wild was one of the movies I'd been itching to see for the past few months. I'm a sucker for movies shot in beautiful places and Into the Wild did not disappoint. The story of a college graduates struggle to free himself from the untruths he found in the world, he leaves home, burns up all of his identification and proceeds to hitchhike to Alaska.
Beautiful movie, I'd say.
I also watched The Darjeeling Limited and almost moved to India, but that's a different story.
have you read this book? of course it was better than the movie, but the great nature scenes made the movie very enjoyable. however, in the book the guy is not nearly as likeable as the movie. but i guess you can't really have a movie that leaves you with the feeling that he was a jerk to his family and it was his own foolish fault for his untimely demise. he did make a lot of good points about society, though...
