Back in Texas; trying to catch up on sleep and relaxation.
Graduation was nice; packing went semi-smoothly and the trip home was only mildly hellacious. There's something to be said about getting up at 4:30 in the morning and traveling all day and finally arriving home at 5:00pm. I don't know how you couldn't feel miserable after all that.
I've had a job waiting for me since last year, but only today did it become official. I accepted a job as "Corporate Chef" with CTI Foods. It really is a dream job and I still can't believe that it's real. It's one of those things that I could never explain to people outside the industry or people outside of the school. It's really one-in-a-million in many different ways. The physical job is very cool, but the people I work for are quite incredible. My boss has to be one of the most genuine people I've ever had the privilege of working for and it still trips me up a little when he offers affirmation. I never really experienced that much in past jobs. They're paying me pretty well, so that's a nice change from being broke and car-less last year.
My parents gifted me a 2003 Honda Accord, which as of today, is officially registered to me. I also now have car insurance in my own name and a credit card with a whopping $500 limit. It's fun that they treat zero credit as bad credit. I'm starting to think about a place to live in Dallas and all that comes along with that. I'm almost furniture-less and still quite broke, so this should be a fun experience.
Good to be home, though.
Yay for the Fleeg!
