This morning I walked up to FDR’s estate, just about a two-mile walk up the river. I’m not sure if it’s sanctioned, but there’s a trail between the Culinary’s campus and the National Park System’s property where the home of FDR and his National Library are located. It’s an impressive area and you can still see the remnants of its former life as the home to one of our most popular Presidents and First Ladys.
I saw quite a few deer, got some pictures of a few and got to see a little hilarity moments after i almost jumped out of my own skin when a squirrel came running at me. I looked up the trail and saw a blur of fur coming right at me and i felt my heart jump and i was quickly thinking of where to hide. Of course, then I realized it was just a squirrel, but still. As I continued on my walk, a deer jumped out of the brush to my left and was so scared, I swear it was pooping while it was scampering up the trail. I thought that was a nice thing for it to do, you know, litter up the trail in front of me.
Unfortunately, it was getting pretty hot at this point, so i called it a day and went back to the dorm.

Oh. You noticed? A little redesign, obviously.
