When I saw Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova opening in NYC for Damien Rice; I was amazed at how beautiful their music, and how natural they were on stage. Imagine that translated to a movie, and you've got the movie "Once." Sadly, it's only in limited release right now, perhaps never making it to West Texas. Last night, I attended the kickoff event for the Anju Gill Foundation. It was a neat evening at Bend Studio in Dallas featuring two singer/songwriters. Rahim Quazi was up first and offered a soulful folksy sound, reminiscent of Amos Lee. Salim Nourallah played last. The foundation's focus will be that of promoting Texas singer/songwriters and providing financial means for those to show their passions....

I don't know what's more bizarre, Kenny Mayne writing something that's serious, or Yum! thinking this is a good idea.
