I was hoping to write today about this beautiful new camera I received yesterday. I was going to post wonderful pictures and talk about how wonderful my girlfriend is.
You see, last week wasn't too good. I had my first wreck; sliding into the back of a girl on IH820 in Fort Worth. No one was hurt and the damage wasn't too severe, but it was still not the most pleasant experience I've ever had.
I went to Lubbock this past weekend and had a nice visit with my family, dog, and Whitney. I came back to Dallas ready to have a good week before getting home again for a long weekend.
Today was a good day, until I stopped in to Taco Bueno for some food. When I came back out to my car, in broad daylight, in a heavily-trafficked area, I was shocked to find my window smashed and my laptop stolen.
For a minute, I didn't think it was real because it was so sudden, so quick. Of course, no one saw anything and no one cared to do anything about it. It's so sad that something so bad can happen to someone and humanity won't take a minute out of their day to step up.
As I stood outside my car, realizing that my computer and all of my work papers were now gone, I was just stunned. It's crazy how life can get really bad, really quick. One moment, you've had a good day at work, you've worked really hard, and the next your computer, your work, your life is gone.
I sat on the curb and cried for a little while; not so much because it's the absolute worst thing that's ever happened to anyone; but more because of how shocking it was and how sad it was that I didn't get to go home to a hug or an excited puppy. It's times like these that I just wouldn't know what to do without my parents. I know I've grown up a lot and I'm pretty self-sufficient, but I simply didn't know what to do. It's funny how suddenly you can feel so lost, when really, you know the answers. I knew that after my wreck last week, I couldn't file a claim on my insurance. I knew that I had to file a police report and that I had to pull it together and get back on my feet.
So I'm typing this from a brand new MacBook Pro and although it's very nice, fast, pretty, etc.. I didn't want it. I want my old, dented computer and the innocence I had with that computer. On the brightside, now my camera and computer are better than Whitney's. So there's a little good, I guess...
poor, the fleeg. :( i wish i could give you a hug...will thursday suffice?
also, stop gloating. its my turn with the camera when you come back for Easter...hehe.

Ugh, that sucks so bad. Cody gets whatever vehicle he's currently driving broken into at least once a year. Last time they got his laptop bag which contained (handily) his computer, wallet, bank account information, BIRTH CERTIFICATE, copy of Microsoft Office (borrowed, of course) and his nice watch.
In Dallas it was 3 times in less than 3 years, and at that time he was driving a car WITH an alarm. Some guys have all the luck, right? :)
