Well, Thanksgiving was great.
My 5 days in Texas were a much needed break; alleviating my home-sickness and helping Whitney and I reconnect. Being away is hard, and in a weird way, you end up feeling like you know a different person than you knew before you left. Not that it's a catastrophic problem, but it makes it hard.
When I finally got off the plane after leaving at 4:00 am, I was so pleased to see Whitney (i won't mention that she was late picking me up!!). To be able to see and touch was really neat after the voice only relationship we'd had for 3 months. For about the first hour, I just sat there and giggled at her. It was nice to see her in the flesh again and remember how beautiful she really is.

We spent most of our time just hanging out, which was nice. I'm still jealous of her Wii and that she has Guitar Hero II. It was nice being able to drive around and to get to see Lainie.
Overall though, it was very important for me because it made these next 6 weeks more bearable. It's hard being away from everything you knew and loved and it's even harder to reconstruct that comfort level in a new place alone. Just getting hugs and smiles was worth all the money and time it cost to get home, and don't even get me started on being able to kiss Whitney.
It was just so nice to be able to get back to what I knew, what I loved, and rejuvenate myself to finish up the next six weeks before externship.
i agree it was a wonderful five days. i really enjoy spending time with your family, your dog, and, duh, you.
i love you, thefleeg.
and for the record, again, i wasn't late. your plane was 15 minutes EARLY. from DFW. totally unthinkable.

Did you see your parents and/or your brother while you were in "Dusty, dirty, treeless Lubbock" as you describe it. Mom and Dad
