This past week was a short one, and pretty easy all around. My procrastinating ways led me to wait three months before attempting to write my 23 pages I needed for Wednesday's writing class. I spent all day Tuesday writing; hardly even moving from my desk for the entire day. Our assignment was to write a one-page journal entry every class meeting and turn them in at the end of the term. So, of course, I waited until the day before. After writing my 23 pages, I wrote a 7-page persuasive piece for the next class. So it is possible to write 30 pages without your fingers falling off. Also, if you think I probably turned in some sub-par work, it was actually some of my best, garnering me a 95 and a 100, respectively.
I will say, however, that it's definitely a different feeling being up here alone, again. Whitney's visit was wonderful and I think we both had a pretty good time. It was nice to be able to show her where I'm living and how beautiful the area is. Honestly, the East Coast has a totally different feel than Texas. But there's something about the history of it and the natural beauty that makes it a very nice place to live.
Living in the dorms has been a not-so-great experience and I've realized why I'm not liking it at all. It's not the rooms or the shared bathroom, I can deal with that. The noise and the high school antics, though, I could really enjoy not being surrounded by. I don't have any desire to run up and down the halls, yelling and screaming and having a good time. I'm just too old for it, I think. After 8pm, I settle down and study, read, and relax.

Looking at Jenn's pictures, I'm very jealous. It's hard to put into words, but the party days and the hyperactivity in my life is long gone. I'm jealous of people who can cook and read together, who can lay on a bed for hours just resting. Some day soon...
it was very nice seeing the area you live in right now. it's beautiful up there, and i know i was lucky to have the amazing weather. it really sold it to me.
i also agree that youre an old man, and ithink you should petition for the old man floor. maybe an old man building? or maybe you should go ahead and ask to transfer out of the freshman dorm!! :)
jenn's place is very cute & like the album said, anyone's welcome anytime. we should see if we can meet there sometime soon!!
