May 30, 2006 07:54 PM: sapFor roughly two months, i spent every day with miss whitney green. In that time, we became unbelievably close and forged an extremely strong friendship, alongside other feelings. She has such a great personality that somehow overshadows how beautiful she is. To be honest, being away from her hurts. bad. I know the next few weeks are going to be really tough on us, but i hope that things do work out because when we're together, it's special. Here's hoping......
May 29, 2006 09:51 PM: I love NYI made it. Yay. Flying yesterday was pretty uneventful. I met some nice people in the Baltimore airport while eating some very sub-par crab cakes. On my flight into Albany, I met a kid attending the Insitute who let me pick his brain for an hour. His name was Brian and he's a third-year Baking student. Instead of riding the train, I caught a ride with him down to the Insititute. The NY countryside is breathtakingly beautiful. We headed down Route 9 from Albany and things were pretty. Lots...
May 23, 2006 04:24 PM: tahoe ride reportThe lack of updates lately has been downright pitiful. I'll save you the bemoaning about packing, moving, being scared, etc... There's a great photo/ride report of a couple of cyclists' ride around Lake Tahoe. It's hosted on a site I volunteer my time as a moderator and it confirms that Lubbock, TX may possibly be the most uninspiringly ugly place on earth. Enjoy....
May 23, 2006 11:51 AM: so as to avoid any more confusionWhen I tell people I'm moving to New York for school, they automatically assume New York City. Wrong. To set the record straight, I'll be in Hyde Park, NY on the banks of the Hudon River, 90 minutes north of New York City....
May 13, 2006 09:44 AM: let's face it.In two weeks from today, I'll be hopping on a plane for Albany, NY. For the past several weeks, i've been able to ignore this fact and just relish the last few weeks I have in Lubbock. So much has gone through my head and I've probably encountered every emotion possible. For one, it's scary to jump out of your comfort zone in such a radical way. It's one thing to move to another city near home where you know people, it's another to pack two suitcases with everything you...
May 10, 2006 07:23 PM: da vinciI spoke a few months ago about some books I'm reading by a Baylor grad named Brian McLaren; here's a quick blurb about the Da Vinci code that he's written for the Sojourners. It's a perspective that the conservative Christian movement completely misses. Why can't the Church be more introspective instead of reactionary? With The Da Vinci Code poised to go from bestseller list to the big screen on May 19, pastor and writer (and Sojourners board member) Brian McLaren talks about why he thinks there's truth in the controversial...

May 7, 2006 01:44 PM: another great macon bacon show...Last night, Macon Greyson was back in Lubbock. It's only been about a month and a half since their last show, so this one was a pleasant surprise. Thankfully, they were back at the Blue Light instead of Jake's. As usual, they put on one hell of a show. Top Three Reasons Why I Love Macon Greyson: 1) Their music is original, different, and lyrically delicious. It's nice to hear lyrics that make you think. It seems like this is lost on the mainstream listeners, but lyrics aren't supposed...
