December 25, 2002 09:33 PM: europe!!!My mom nagged me for three weeks about what i wanted for Christmas. It was kind of sad, because the whole time i couldn't think of anything i wanted. So in lieu of any request, I was given a trip to London for spring break. For the first time, I was actually shocked by a present that i got for Christmas. I'm really excited and I will never ask for anything ever again. This is way better than when i actually got what i wanted!...

December 20, 2002 09:35 PM: stupid doggieI spent the last twelve hours babysitting Emily's new god dog Dixie. We ate together, took naps together, went for a really long walk, and licked each other all day. Well, maybe I didn't lick her, but whatever. I learned three things while there:1) Dixie won't eat her dog food out of her bowl. She will only eat it off the floor or out of your hand.2) If your name is not Dixie, Emily doesn't care about you. It's all about the dog. =)3) There's nothing funnier than watching a...
December 19, 2002 09:35 PM: missing lifeI think we miss a lot of what life has to give us. The people I truly admire for the way they live or for how they live are quiet people. They don't always have to talk or tell jokes or be the center of attention. It's like they know when to step back and let things happen; I've never known this. I've never been quiet when I needed to be or stepped back when it was time to. I don't know when to quit a lot of times and...
December 15, 2002 09:36 PM: failure3. Within every failure is opportunityDon't be ashamed of failure. So it's you who's been screwing up, not everyone else. Welcome to the club. As Henry Ford said "failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, this time more intelligently." Failure is a misunderstood and underutilized asset. Look back on your failures and try to extract one thing you learned from each. These are keys to breaking your negative patterns. And for inspiration, consider this man's resume:age 22: failed at businessage 23: ran for legislature and lostage 24: failed at...

Blast pressure within the ring is greater than 12 psi; blast pressure outside the ring is less than 12 psi.] The remains of some buildings' foundations are visible. Some of the strongest buildings -- those made of reinforced, poured concrete -- are still standing. Ninety-eight percent of the population within this area are dead. 5 psi Radius: 10.7 milesVirtually everything is destroyed between the 12 and 5 psi rings....
December 3, 2002 09:37 PM: running with abandonLittle kids run with such abandon; not worrying about where they are going or what they are doing. I think that's the thing that adults miss out on. The other day at Lee's house, his niece was running around in the front-yard. She would run around the cars and down the sidewalk, around the tree and back. Her energy never dipped while she was making either a growling noise or a giddy laugh. The more I thought about it, the more I was jealous of her. First off, I could...
