I can't really think of a time when I actually watched a tennis match all the way through. I don't even think that would be true in matches that I played in. I couldn't think of a better US Open final than Agassi-Sampras; two people we all tried to be like in our tennis-playing days. I still remember the first time I used a
Tournagrip. It was the greatest grip known to man. Why? Because Pete Sampras endorses it; enough reason for any high school male tennis player. In fact, everyone on the team used it. Lee and I used to make special trips to Wal-Mart before tennis trips to replenish our supply. Now that I think about it, Tournagrip had a life span of about 20 minutes.. we must have bought 1000 of those little blue wonders. Blinded by Pete's endorsement I guess.
Just
for the record: Pete Sampras is more deserving of baseball's MVP than Barry Bonds and he doesn't even play the sport.
Also, please read
this article written for ESPN the Magazine and tell me if you can follow the way this guy writes. It's almost like the article was written by passing a piece of paper around Arthur Ashe Stadium asking people to write down one sentence; or by a 12-year old on acid. One sentence he's here, and then the next there, all the while not making sense. weird.
