Lately I've been a one-man crime stopping machine. In the past two months, I've helped get 4 people arrested, 5 people fired, and stopped 2 shoplifters. I don't know why all the sudden I'm noticing all these people stealing. Are they stealing because the economy is weak? or are they just stealing to steal? It seems like the latter, but they didn't take into account my sudden supernatural attention to detail. I closed the fuel station tonite up at the store and caught my closing helper trying to gank a carton of cigarettes. When he brought out all the stock I had requested, he had apparently spatchcocked a carton of cigarettes off to the side. My manager had told me they thought he was stealing, but no one was able to catch him. So I pretended to go along with normal routine. I put away everything he had brought me, but as I was finishing I noticed he went around back for no reason. This clued me in that the carton of cigarettes was behind the booth by the coke machines and all the trash I had previously gathered. I tried to act like I was just doing the normal things that I would always do, but the whole while, I was looking for these stupid cigarettes. I knew they were back there; I checked between the coke machines, on top of the coke machines... I looked everywhere and was about to concede defeat when I noticed that one of the trash bags he had collected was not tied close. Weird I thought because you'd be shocked at all the gross things people put in a fuel stations garbage can. It's a strange liquid mix of coke, gas additive, beer, and oil. So I take a look; sure enough. BUSTED! He proceeded to cry when the security guard confronted him about it which made me feel bad. But you know what, it's not my problem. I'm doing my job.
So why do i feel weird?
